Correction: Haitian Deportations story(Published February 18, 2009)

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — In a Feb. 16 story about deportations to Haiti, The Associated Press reported erroneously that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had ordered 30,000 Haitians to be deported. Federal immigration judges ordered 30,000 Haitians deported, not ICE.The story also reported erroneously that 243 Haitians are under a form of house arrest. They are under ICE supervision and monitored electronically, but are allowed to leave their homes.
