Cyrus Sibert, Owner at Reseau Citadelle, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Artists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in investigative reporting.
Mr. Sibert is an investigative reporter whose work on child sexual abuse has appeared in newspapers such as the Connecticut Post, Journal Le Nouvelliste (of Haiti), as well as in documentaries on CNN, Radio Canada TV and “A Cruz Haitiana” by the Brazilian Journalist Iara Lemos. His investigation has helped to prosecute corrupt police officers, fight against human rights violations, protect women from harassment or sexual assault by jailers on the wives of prisoners and by senior police officers on young women applicants to the National Police Academy of Haiti and free wrongfully held prisoners, including through a counter-investigation proving the innocence of young people unjustly imprisoned for the assassination in Cap-Haitien of a French member of the United Nations Police.
Mr. Sibert has assisted the United Nations Police (UNPOL) and the Haitian Police (PNH) in a joint team to stop gang of kidnappers and organized crime led by the dangerous Willy Etienne in the northern part of Haiti. His work has contributed in stimulating the Haitian government to adopt a law against human trafficking in 2014.
Mr. Sibert completed coursework with Ecole de Commerce Maurice Laroche in 1994 and obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the Institut Universitaire d’Etudes Juridiques, Economiques et de Développement Régional in 2003. He excelled in social marketing for PSI (Population Services International) and ADEC (Agence Developpement et d’Education Communautaire) and as a journalist with Radio Maxima from 2002 to 2005, Radio Citadelle from 2005 to 2006 and Radio Kontak Inter 94.9. Since 2006, he has prospered as an editorialist, reporter and owner of Reseau Citadelle and Radio Souvenir FM since 2008. In addition, he has found success with MIC (Media Institute of the Caribbean) since February 2021.
Since 2011, Mr. Sibert has utilized his law degree as an investigator, consultant and liaison for the American law firms Mitchell Garabedian Law Office (Boston) and Simmons Hanly Conroy. In addition, he is a volunteer in charity missions and non-governmental organizations for child development and protection from and prevention of communicable diseases.
Mr. Sibert attributes his success to the support of his family as well as to the support of the child abuse advocate groups with which he is involved. His fight and advocacy as an investigative reporter for the prevention of child abuse and pedophilia has been Mr. Sibert’s most notable accomplishment. His goal has always been to spare children and families from the emotional and mental distress and trauma of abuse.
In the coming years, Mr. Sibert hopes to continue to excel in the field of investigative journalism and continue to enhance his skills and knowledge in the field. Additionally, his goal is to continue to contribute for the betterment of the lives of the people in Haiti and to make a world a better place and a safe place for children.
