Bishop Malone's spokesperson sends Paul Kendrick a stern message about his attendance at Harvest Ball: "You are not welcome to attend"

September 20, 2010 Sue Bernard Communications Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland Portland, Maine Dear Sue, I am horrified that you and Bishop Malone told Paul Kendrick he will not be allowed to attend this week's annual Harvest Ball. In addition, you warned him that if he does attend, he will be escorted off the property. Are you intending to have the Portland Police Department arrest Paul if he so much as walks into the lobby of the Holiday Inn?  You have no reason to deny Paul a ticket to the event other than you want to keep him quiet, to censor him, to shut his mouth so that he will be unable to engage his fellow Catholics in a discussion about the lack of justice and the mistreatment of victims in this diocese who have found the courage to report their abuse. In addition, you don't want people knowing that you remain more interested in protecting abuser priests than you are in protecting children; i.e., John Audibert. Which begs the question: Who will be the next target of your hateful discrimination? Will it be me and my family? As you know, my son was sexually molested by Thomas Lee. Bishop Malone, you and other high ranking Diocese of Portland officials refuse to update me about the status of Lee's case. In addition, it was recently discovered by victims/survivors that a dangerous priest child molester is hiding in a neighborhood in Scarborough. Neither you, Bishop Malone, nor any other church official notified the Scarborough police that John Audibert has relocated from Falmouth to Scarborough. It's way past time for Bishop Malone to publish a database of priest abusers on the diocese web site.  Therefore, if you are blackballing Paul from the Ball, I will attend. By attending the Harvest Ball, I will have a unique opportunity to reach out to my fellow Catholics during the social hour and dinner for their help in these matters.  Would you please reserve two tickets for my mother and me. How, when and where should I pay for the tickets?
