Jean Pierre-Louis, Program Manager, helps manage the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund grants and investment programs. He joined the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund through a year-long secondment from the State Department's Office of the Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization (S/CRS). A career Foreign Service Officer, Jean served in the Office of the Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization, from which he was deployed to Haiti in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake. Jean holds a Master's Degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida. He speaks French, Creole and Chinese.

 

Dominique Charles, Program Manager, develops and oversees a program portfolio designed to promote an inclusive, diversified, and sustainable Haitian economy. Dominique's past experience includes working as the senior business analyst for Zafèn, an online microfinance organization based in Haiti. He was also the public-private partnership consultant for a USAID-funded education project, and the community economic development specialist for FANM, a Haitian nonprofit in Miami. Dominique holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an M.A. in International Studies from DePaul University in Chicago. He speaks French and Creole.

Paul Altidor, Vice President, Programs and Investments, leads decision-making on grants and investments, and oversees programs on the ground with regular visits to partners in Haiti. Prior to joining the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Paul worked at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the Corporate Advisory Services Department, a global unit that advises governments on public-private partnerships. At IFC, he was involved in helping the Government of Haiti attract foreign investment through the sale of a 60% equity stake of TELECO, Haiti's telecommunications operator. He has worked for the World Bank and also in the private sector.

He received his undergraduate degree from Boston College. He holds an advanced degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and also pursued graduate studies at the University of Paris X, in France. He speaks French and Creole.

 

Patrick Gaston, Senior Advisor, leads broad outreach programs to increase awareness and support from major donors, corporations and foundations. He develops strategies to engage key stakeholders, including members of the Haitian diaspora.

 

Prior to joining the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Patrick R. Gaston was the president of the Verizon Foundation, one of the 15 largest corporate foundations in America, overseeing an annual budget of $75 million and a corpus of approximately $238 million. He was responsible for philanthropic strategy, grant-making and initiatives in the foundation's issues areas of education and literacy, family safety and health, and employee volunteerism. Under his leadership, the foundation invested more than $500 million in communities in the U.S. and around the globe.

 

During his more than 25 years of service for Verizon, Patrick has served in a variety of management positions in operations, marketing, human resources, strategic planning and government relations.

 

Patrick serves on a number of national nonprofit boards, including the NAACP SCF Board of Trustees, America's Charities, The Conference Board Contributions Council and the World Institute on Disability. He also serves on the National PTA's Leadership Advisory Board and is Vice Chair of the Business Committee of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Patrick is a member of the board of directors of Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc., a publicly-traded company that operates a nationwide chain of retail stores. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, a network and leadership forum of African-American senior corporate executives. In 2009, Patrick was named as one of the top 100 most influential African-Americans in corporate America by Savoy Professional magazine. He was also named Corporate Responsibility Magazine Foundation CEO of the year in 2010. He has served as a guest lecturer at several universities, including Rutgers University and Dartmouth College, and speaks frequently at national venues on the subjects of corporate responsibility and philanthropy.

 

Patrick was raised in Haiti, Montreal, Canada and Boston, Massachusetts, and holds a B.A. in management from the University of Massachusetts and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University. He earned an International Certificate in Business from Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Reims, France.
