Dear Rev. Cecero,
Father Paul Carrier, S.J., a member of the Northeast Jesuit Province which you head, is being accused of sexually abusing a minor boy.
Five months have passed since the allegation became known and there has been no public or official response by Jesuit officials
Please issue a public statement in which you acknowledge the accusation(s) made against Father Carrier and what steps you are taking in response to the accusation.
If you are unsure as to what you should be doing to provide both immediate assistance to the victim and to ensure the protection of children, I am enclosing a May 2013 Op-Ed I wrote for the Portland Press Herald regarding our newly elected Jesuit pope.
