The Consulate of the Republic of Haiti in Orlando presents its best regards to theHaitian community in his jurisdiction, that of Florida in particular, to the Members of the Press, and is pleased to inform them that under the publication of the amended Constitution of 1987, any Haitian citizen who acquired foreign citizenship may now apply to obtain a Haitian passport.
This decision was based on the provisions of the Haitian Constitution of 1987, amended on May 9, 2011 and published under number 58 in the Official Gazette The Monitor on Friday May 13, 2011.
The procedures are as followed:
1.REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR ADULTS:
•Original Birth Certificate or Extract from the National Archives. (Theoriginals must be submitted at the Consulate);
•Green Card/Resident Card, or proof of U.S. citizenship;
•Two (2) color photographs, passport size (35mm x 45mm);
•The old passport is required for renewal, change of personal information orpassport saturated;
•The original marriage certificate, if the applicant is a married woman;
•The original Divorce Certificate, if applicable;
•Husband's Death Certificate (for widows wishing to use their maiden name).
2. MINOR CHILDREN: the following shall be added to the documents cited above:
•Parental consent signed by a parent or guardian. (The parental consent form isavailable at the reception of the Consulate);
•Birth Registration (children born abroad, aged 25 months or less);
•The minor must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must be equipped with an official document (passport, identity card,driving license) to establish his identity;
The guardian must present a parental authorization signed by a parent and a notary certified by the Department of State of Florida;
•The tax registration number (NIF) is not required for minors.
The prices are as followed:
· Regular treatment: U.S. $ 93.00 Time: 15 to 21working days
· Emergency treatment: U.S. $ 123.00 Time: 7 to10 business days
